Applied Behavior Analysis
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientifically-based approach for treating Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disorders. ABA uses the principles of behavior to create meaningful behavioral changes through individualized interventions. Using techniques such as shaping, reinforcement, modeling, and communication training, we are able to safely reduce challenging behaviors while simultaneously teaching new skills to help your child thrive at home, school, and in the community.
Skill-Based Teaching
We specialize in providing treatment for severe, dangerous challenging behaviors. Our BCBAs are credentialed in Skill-Based Teaching (SBT), which is a research-based and trauma-informed intervention developed by Dr. Gregory Hanley, PhD, BCBA-D, that promotes safety, autonomy, and communication.
We understand that not every learner needs to follow SBT protocols for effective treatment. Many of our learners receive treatment following familiar ABA techniques such as discrete trial teaching (DTT), differential reinforcement, and token economies. However, at Dynamic ABA we uphold the same values for all learners, including assent-based practice, child-based sessions, prioritizing safety over compliance, and maintaining a positive relationship with each child.
Consultation
Our BCBAs will provide ongoing caregiver training and consultation with parents, other therapists or healthcare providers, and school staff to ensure consistency of care to promote generalization and best clinical outcomes for our clients.
As Level 6 SBT certificants, the owners of Dynamic ABA are able to consult with individual BCBAs, other providers (OTs, SLPs, paraprofessionals), schools, and other ABA companies to teach SBT skills and level providers up to Level 4.
Process
Once your child has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), we can begin your intake process. Following a brief phone call and verification of insurance eligibility, we will schedule an in-person intake assessment either in the clinic or in your home. Your assessing BCBA will complete a treatment plan, which will be submitted to your insurance carrier for authorization of ABA services, and then your sessions will be scheduled according to your child’s needs and availability.
